Sometimes you learn a lot more about a city and its people through things unspoken. Through the expressions on the walls, the colors, the images, the slogans. One of my favorite things about visiting new places is to see what characteristics shine through in their street art. What is valued here? What problems do the people face, and what do they have to say about it? Or is it just aesthetic? It’s for us, the viewers, to decipher and decide. That’s part of what I love about it, the stories it tells silently that I get to interpret and ponder.
